How would you like to combine pleasure and rejuvenation with the mystical natural beauty of the coastal town of Gokarna? Do all this and much more at the Om Beach Resort at Gokarna! Om Beach Resort, Gokarna is a new joint venture between the Bangalore based Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd (a Govt. of Karnataka undertaking) and Kairali Group. JLR has been in the news for promoting eco, adventure and wildlife tourism and Kairali is well known for its innovative concept of Ayurveda Health tourism. The joint venture between these two market leaders has set a new dimension in quality and service in the hospitality sector.

The Resort has 12 palatial colonial English style suites overlooking the golden stretch of the beach and the verdant green hills in Gokarna, on the way to the famous Om Beach, one of Gokarna's five famous beaches. The resort is equipped with all the modern facilities such as air-conditioned rooms, multi cuisine restaurants and as well as a well-stocked bar.

He ancient town Gokarna is famous for its temples and beaches. With its narrow streets, traditional houses and temples, this unassuming town has become the favorite haunt for pilgrims, Sanskrit scholars and beach buffs.

Locally, it is believed that Gokarna derives its name from a legend in which Lord Shiva emerged from the ear of a cow. Literally meaning ‘cow's ear’, this village is formed by the ear-shaped confluence of two rivers.

Om Beach, one of Gokarna's five acclaimed beaches, takes the shape of an 'Om', the spiritual Hindu symbol. If you don’t want to confine yourself just to the Om Beach, there are the other beaches, wedged between cliffs, which are Gokarna, Kudle, Half Moon and Paradise Beach. The drive up the winding path that leads to Gokarna is a scenic delight with the rocky Western Ghats on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other.

When you stay at the Om Beach Resort, you can be adventurous and take a boat ride to Paradise Beach, which is an uninhabited beach just like the name suggests. Exclusive use of Paradise Beach, which is not inhabited by humans and accessible only through sea and forest either by boating or by trekking through the forest, is a great option for the adventurous lot.

Paradise beach can be utilized for all types of beach activity as the water is calm and the beach is sparkling clean. Open restaurant with seafood specialties and Barbeque are provided in this beach for the exclusive use of our guests.

In the Om Beach, water sports activities like surfing, skiing, parasailing, banana boat cruise, etc. are arranged under the supervision of qualified and experienced instructors. Enjoy the crystal clear water, the golden velvety sands and the cool breeze coming from the forests.

Alternatively, go shopping/sight seeing in the morning and trekking/drop in to the Om Beach and nearby forest in the evening.

Gokarna is connected by road and rail from Karwar, Ankola, Hubli, Mangalore, Kumta, Bangalore, Hampi, Mysore. The National highway 17 is about 9 Km from the town; the Bangalore- Goa highway passes through Ankola which is about 20 Kms form the resort.

The Konkan Railway passes through the Gokarna, and Kumta and Ankola (20 Kms) are the main railway stations. The nearest airport is in Panaji, Goa (Dabolim), which is 135 Kms from Gokarna.

Dream come true of staying on hill top tree house, it was all together a ‘Out of World Experience’. The tree house is wonderful. The food was deliciously simple and less spicy. Although there was a little delay in serving sometimes, but served the food really hot. We thoroughly enjoyed adventure activities such as Rafting, Jungle safari & Trekking. We recommend that everyone should experience it once in their lifetime.
