Looking for a weekend getaway on beach? Jungle Lodges, Devbagh Beach Resort is just the one. The resort is located North of Karnataka, just a 2-hour drive from the South of Goa off the mainland of Karwar. You can get to Devbagh from Karwar, a land of converging landscapes. Karwar is nestled between the Western Ghats on its eastern side and the Arabian Sea on the west. There, you will find several small islands, with Devbagh being one of them.
The beach resort is a fountain of excitement and thrills for all beach lovers. Building sand castles, collecting colourful seashells, chasing crabs in the sand and wading into the sea, do whatever you like at Devbagh Beach Resort. Indulge yourself with beach combing, a game of beach volleyball or simply lazing in the shade on a hammock, watching the shimmering sea.
If you love adventures, Devbagh offers a host of exciting water sports such as parasailing, snorkeling, speedboat cruises, banana boat rides, water scooters and kayaking. You can even hire skilled instructors, who will help enjoy the sport safely.
Bordering the resort is a cluster of mangrove with their ‘breathing roots’ out. This is also an excellent spot for bird watching. You can even spot packs of jackals prowling and hunting crabs at night.Take a stroll to the nearby Devbagh village and you can watch the fisher-folk bringing in their daily catch of mackerel, prawns and pomfret, among others. You can also set off in a catamaran to see them casting nets in the ocean. Or, get into a native, two-man dugout along with a local fisherman and try your hand at angling.
Go for a pleasure trip to the adjoining islands off Devbagh and if you are lucky, you may even spot dolphins frolicking gracefully in the azure waters. Or how about treating your body with a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage at the Ayurveda Center in the resort?
Devbagh Beach Resort is located amidst a casuarinas grove facing a shallow and private beach. The resort has eight log cabins on stilts, six tented cottages and four cottages all with attached baths.
Enjoy sumptuous, non-vegetarian Indian dishes at the resort’s twin Gol Ghar, an open sided circular gazebo. During the fishing season, you can also feast on the specially-prepared fresh seafood items.
The best time to visit Devbagh is from October-March, when the climate remains pleasant and suitable for various activities at the resort. While monsoon months (June- September) are wet and windy, summer (April, May and June) is warm and humid.
